1,231 calories: I’m trying another new thing starting today. I’ve posted calorie counts a couple of times before but I was not thoroughly convinced that I needed to keep up counting calories for the long run.
I was wrong: Having a running total keeps me accountable to myself, forcing me to be aware of every calorie I put into my mouth. I counted calories the first time I successfully lost weight, and I’ve been avoiding until now because I don’t think it’s a reasonable expectation to do this for the rest of my life. However, it’s come time to admit that this is a necessary tool for weight loss. So much so that it’s the main method preached by Tyler over at 344pounds.com, who was an inspiration when it came time to start my own weight loss blog.
Here’s the first entry. Yesterday was just over 1,200 calories (after burning some in exercise) and I managed to get that salad in for dinner (and leftovers for lunch today). Here’s the recipe.
