A move in the right direction

I have a lot to say, but I feel like I’d be complaining way too much while simultaneously burying my own shortcomings in the lede.

These last couple of weeks at work have been a roller coaster and you can read more about that here if you would like.

Blogwise, I’m working on getting back to 234 lbs., essentially the weight I was at before I ventured off course in my weight loss. The eating healthy is going as well as it was last week, if not better because Wifey Nadia and I made sure to prepare and package meals and snacks ahead of time for the entire week. I resume Fat Dude cooking with our first pizza recipe tonight, so I’m very much looking forward to that.

I haven’t yet resumed walking mostly because I’ve been lazy, which is a terrible thing to admit, but it’s absolutely the truth. I rested the bad back for most of the weekend, and the pain has been pretty manageable this week, which is a much-needed change from how it has been.

I’m a work in progress, and I’m progressing. Slowly. =)

As for the scale: Today I weigh 237 lbs. I weighed 238 last week. That’s a one week loss of 1 lb. I started this blog 19 weeks ago weighing 258 lbs. That’s a total loss of 21 lbs.

  1. You’re doing a fantastic job. It’s a good idea to take it just one step at a time. When you’re back on track with the food, and feeling comfortable there, you’ll get back on track with walking and eventually even more exercise.

That’s how it’s worked out for me. I had to deal with a lot of emotional demons before I could really be on track with eating right, so once I finally dealt with that and then started exercising six days a week, I’m FINALLY seeing the pounds drop, and feeling awesome.

What a ride, friend. What a ride.

  2. Mackalicious, how is possible you have only lost 21 pounds? That pic of you on the Weekly’s Final Pho post made you look like Kate Moss with a beard. In any event, we should do a hike of doom sometime soon. You can cook me lunch afterward! Seriously, hit me up.
